Shorts are a hot topic around here. Whether or not it's appropriate to wear them to the office, how short they can (or should) be and how necessary they are when one is in picnic mode.

The oh-so-versatile wardrobe staple has another iteration: Evening wear. We recently saw Zoe Saldana out and about in a pair of leather hot pants and were intrigued. Then there's pop stars like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj who love to prance around the stage in blinged-out shorts.

They got us thinking that of course we should wear fancy pants for a night out. They are perfect for this hot weather, and since they're shorts, they're kinda modest (this is a prime example of fashionista logic). They even transition into winter: Add a pair of opaque tights and a jacket and they're now an all-season item.
