We're wigging out right now.

Sia, the Australia singer behind hits like "Alive," "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart," opened up about her infamous wig during a Tuesday appearance on "Ellen." The 39-year-old entertainer famously wears giant fake hair nearly everywhere she goes, whether it's a red carpet appearance, talk show gig or a SNL performance.

"We're pals, so I have seen what your face looks like, I know what you look like," host Ellen DeGeneres said to Sia. "But whenever you perform, you do not like to show your face, and I don't think people understand why."

"Well, it's so that I can go to Target and buy a hose if I want to, and/or if I'm in need of a restroom and I can't find one, I could go by the side of the road," said Sia, adding, "and nobody would be following me with a camera trying to get 'the shot.'"

The singer has previously talked about her need for privacy in a 2014 interview with The New York Times.

"Once, as my friend was telling me they had cancer, someone came up and asked, in the middle of the conversation, if they could take a photograph with me," said Sia. "You get me?"

But while Sia chooses to keep her face covered up these days, that wasn't always the case. To see what the singer looks like without her wig, scroll through the photos below.
