The Sweet Moment Santa Used Sign Language To Connect With Little Girl

"This truly captures the spirit of Christmas."

“Sorry, she can’t talk very well,” the mom apologized, as her daughter sat excited but shy on Santa’s lap.

But that didn’t matter for the jolly old elf, who knew the perfect way to connect with the little girl.

“Can she sign at all?” the Santa asked the mom, who responded that her daughter had indeed started to learn sign language.

In the YouTube video above, watch the heartwarming exchange that Santa and the girl then shared.

The sweet video was filmed over the weekend at Cleveland Centre, a shopping mall in Middlesbrough, England. It’s been watched more than 90,000 times to date.

As Refinery29.com notes, there are certain malls in the U.S. where hearing-impaired children can meet with Santas who know sign language -- like this one in Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, or this one in Treasure Coast Square Mall in Jensen Beach, Florida.

Some mall Santas, like the one at Treasure Coast Square, also speak Spanish and other languages.

If you’re looking for a non-English speaking Santa to meet with your child, call the malls in your area to find out if there's one in your vicinity.
