One man’s protest has started the conversation the world wasn’t necessarily ready to have, but his leadership has engaged a nation whether they like it or not.

For those of you wondering what true leadership looks like, or what it looks like for God to have a purpose greater than you could ever imagine, take a look at this.

Before, some just saw a football player - a man to entertain them on Sunday and Monday, but clearly God has so much more for his life. He’s the epitome of using your platform for a greater cause, a more poignant moment in time.

When you live on purpose, you'll face persecution, but God will always be in the midst. When you do things for his glory and for the betterment of others, he'll create a movement you couldn't ever imagine. We need more of our athletes, entertainers, and established entrepreneurs to use their influence for the better—even when faced with ridicule and isolation.

Yes, what started out with one man has now become a resounding movement across our country. Joining Colin are teammates, other professional teams, individuals, and even some high school students. He must be humbled by those who have engaged in the conversation to say there’s more than just Colin with a problem. This is a systemic issues that those young and old, black and white, can no longer remain silent on. There is a such thing as white privilege, there is a such thing as racism in America and there is such thing as change.

I'm sure it felt lonely at first to hear the hatred spewed from the mouths of our great nations perfect people; however, now he is the start of necessary conversations to address whether we are truly free and brave. Colin decision is the ultimate freedom and bravery we need our little boys and girls to see. We can’t allow our children to just be influenced by the athletic gift our athletes posses, but that of the intellectual variety. Isn’t being audacious and a leader what we truly want our children to aspire to be? Don’t we want to raise individual who are open to possibility and understand the magnitude of their voice? I do.

Colin, I salute you and pray God continues to protect, guide and bless you. You sir, are the gift this world needs and your community needs (#BlackLivesMatter). Thank you for being the change agent to rock this country to its core.

Inequality and race relations in America must be addressed, and perhaps Colin was the match that lit the fire.

What will you stand for?

Will you aim to be more than what meets the eye or will you focus on just existing?

There's more to life than a ball, a song, lyrics, or any other form of entertainment or possessions you believe are key to happiness. True peace comes when you can stand in the midst of those who persecute you, with your head held high and the confidence that there's something greater inside of you.
