Simon Cowell Is Joining 'America's Got Talent' Next Year

It's a British invasion.

Simon Cowell, everyone's favorite TV judge that they love to hate, has announced that he'll be a judge on the 11th season of "America's Got Talent" next year.

Cowell announced his new gig in his typical boastful fashion:

In a statement to EW, the U.K. "X Factor" judge said he was "thrilled" he was joining the show. "What I love about this show is that it’s open to absolutely anyone," said Cowell. "America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!"

Cowell mentioned that he'd been in talks with NBC for a while, according to an interview with Us Weekly.

"We've been talking about it for a few years, funny enough, me and NBC," said Cowell. "This year ... everything worked. So it was perfect."

Cowell will take the place of Howard Stern, who announced that he was leaving the show in September. We can't wait for the influx of hilarious, somewhat brutish comments from Simon.
