Sister Cristina's First Album Becomes Available For Purchase Online

Sister Cristina Releases First Album

Sister Cristina's self-titled debut album released to the public on Tuesday with familiar and unheard tracks.

The singing nun rose to international fame by winning Italy's "The Voice" in June, landing herself a record contract with Universal. The 26-year-old announced in September that her first album would be out in time for Christmas -- and lo and behold it has arrived!

The 12-track album, which Italy's Excite News reports was produced by Elvezio Fortunato and recorded in Los Angeles, is available for purchase on Amazon and features covers of "Try" by Pink, "No One" by Alicia Keys and "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane.

Also included is the album's single, the nun's cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin." Sister Cristina released the single in October, calling her version more of “a secular prayer than a pop song."

The nun released a video to accompany the single (above), and Madonna responded with a photoshopped version of Sister Cristina's album on Twitter:

The shoutout from Madonna may have been exciting, but Sister Cristina told The Guardian she is holding out for another high-profile message -- from Pope Francis.

"I’d love to sing for him," the nun said. "I’d love to give him a copy of my album."
