You want healthy, younger-looking skin. You also want to spend less time in the bathroom slathering on creams and following an unwieldly skincare regimen. That means you need to get in, get out and get the job done. Basically, you need a game plan. By combining hard-working products, powerful ingredients and consolidating steps, you will be able to effectively cut down on your time at the sink. Here, friends, is your 3-minute guide to brighter, healthier skin.
Minute 1: Cleanse + Exfoliate There are options that both cleanse and buff away dead skin, but you can also combat blahness by combining your favorite face wash with a gentle scrub. (A tip we picked up from Arianna's daughter, Christina Huffington.) Look for a cleanser that will address your skin's specific issues. Acne? A salicylic acid-based wash will unclog pores and fight bacteria. Pigmentation or dark spots? A cleanser with vitamin C, which packs anti-aging antioxidants, will help even skin tone. If your skin is on the drier side, look for a scrub with added oils.
Minute 2: Serum + De-puffing Face Massage Use this minute to work in deeply-hydrating face oils or serums. Starting around your chin, gently (and we stress, gently) move your index and middle fingers in an upward motion towards your jaw. Repeat this action underneath cheekbones, moving outward and upward. To reduce undereye bags, start from the inner corner and work outward in a circular motion. If you can swing it, a small crystal face massager is also an effective way reduce puffiness. Not only is the action calming, but it will break down lymph, improve circulation and tighten the skin.
Minute 3: Moisturize + Protect In this final step, you're going to want to pack in extra hydration along with a protective SPF. Again, you can mix your favorite hydrator and sunscreen, or you choose a blend that includes both. Apply a thin layer all over, making sure to add extra coverage to areas that are susceptible to fine lines.
