'Slender Man' Stabbing: Morgan Geyser And Anissa Weier To Appear In Court

Preteens Charged In 'Slender Man' Stabbing To Appear In Court

WEST BEND, Wis. -- Two 12-year-old Wisconsin girls accused of stabbing and nearly killing a classmate to curry favor with a fictional online character are due back in court.

Attorneys are expected to discuss the results of a mental health evaluation of one of the girls in court Wednesday. Defense attorney Anthony Cotton says he believes his client is mentally ill. A court commissioner agreed to have a state doctor examine her.

Cotton says he also has hired a second doctor to evaluate the girl.

A motion for prosecutors to turn over evidence to the other girl's public defender also is on the agenda.

Court documents say the girls plotted for months to kill their friend to please the specter known as Slender Man. The 12-year-old victim has been recovering at home.
