SLIDESHOW: Anti-Tax Tea Parties In California

On Saturday, several hundred people assembled across Southern California for anti-tax protests to kick-off what has become known as the "Tax Revolt Tea Parties." These protests are part of a national movement that will culminate in over 400 demonstrations all over the country on Tax Day, April 15.

The protesters, who take issue with higher taxes and increased government spending, focused their anger at President Obama and the Democratically controlled Congress. Participants held signs that read, "Obama Is Making Us A 3rd World Nation" and "Honk If You Want To Fire Congress." Protesters on Saturday also took aim at California's Republican Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, for his tax hikes and support of Obama's stimulus plan. At the San Diego protest, participants took turns bashing a Schwarzenegger piñata, which held "Pay Day" bars, gold coins, and monopoly money.

(Help us continue to cover the tea parties! The Huffington Post wants to have citizen journalists at as many of these events as possible.
