'Smack My Bitch Up' Cat Gets Into Trouble In Darkly Funny Prodigy Parody (NSFW VIDEO)

WATCH: Cat My B*tch Up

As any cat owner knows, kitties are all nice and innocent -- until your back is turned.

This parody video of Prodigy's 1997 hit "Smack My B*tch Up" takes that fact to extremes. After receiving a neck-tethered GoPro camera from its owner, the cat goes on a rampage around town, robbing fools, slamming booze, and just pretty much raising hell.

The video was posted to YouTube by user "TheCube95" on Nov. 28, and has received more than 366,000 views at time of writing. Strangely, someone thought it would be okay to boost the video and repost it. The repost got more than 900,000 views.

The footage made a splash on Reddit on Monday, although some criticized it for not being the real thing. We're going to go ahead and stand by the parody, though.

UPDATE -- Dec. 4: Was this video too funny to be true? Did you suspect that a tribute to a 15-year-old Prodigy song was too thin a justification for such opulent production values? Are you a fan of Superchunk?

No? Well, you're not alone. But let's give credit where credit is due. The funny cat footage is the brainchild of director Whitey McConnaughy, who shot the video for Superchunk's song "Crossed Wires."

The video was released last year, and it appears someone edited out the band and the song, and dropped in "Smack My B*tch Up" to make a viral remix. Judging by YouTube views, the remix is more popular than the original.
