Snooki, The Situation's Life Changes Could Mean 'Ratings Gold' For 'Jersey Shore'

Snooki, Sitch To Serve Up Ratings Gold?

Season six of "Jersey Shore" has already been confirmed, despite the fact that two of the show's biggest stars have found themselves in some pretty life-changing situations.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, who is expecting her first child, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, who is seeking help for his addiction to prescription pills, will both be returning to the booze-filled show that made them national treasures.

“I know that many think that 'Jersey Shore' without alcohol will be Jersey Bore, but I think there can be a successful post-booze chapter for them," brand analyst Adam Hanft of Hanft Projects tells me. "Viewers will want to see how they deal with it. The absence of drunken antics will itself be a plot element. Further, their emotional maturity will simply manifest in other hostile and self-destructive ways that viewers won't be able to get enough of.”

The production company behind the show, 495 Productions, is known for turning real, life-altering moments into amazing TV.

“This is a casting director's dream," one major casting director tells me. "Nothing makes better reality TV than babies and weddings. Add into that a kid that’s famous for partying who is now trying to change. That’s the ingredient for ratings gold. Plus, let's remember this is the network of ‘Teen Mom,’ not PBS."

Get ready: by the end of season 6, The Situation and Snooki could be bigger than ever.
