Snowplows Are Really Pissing People Off

If you thought Northeasterners were generally pissy people, wait until you see what happens when you drop a couple feet of snow on their cities.

Mayhem:

The public is pissed off. The city workers are pissed off. Tensions are high -- and the cold war between man and snowplow is on.

One of the more shocking instances of snowplow violence happened Wednesday afternoon in Pittsfield, Mich. Bevan Wilson, 39, is accused of shooting at a snowplow driver for blocking his car in with snow.

Wilson's alleged shot missed, but he was slapped with an attempted murder charge, according to MLive.com.

His victim, Ben Clink, was terrified. He said he left the pile of snow behind Wilson's car temporarily, and was horrified to see an angry man approaching him with a gun.

"I was just saying, ‘Please don’t shoot me, please don’t shoot me, I’ll move the snow, please don’t shoot me,'" Clink said.

Meanwhile, Wilson said in court, "I am the victim." The judge wouldn't let him elaborate.

Wilson's attack is just the tip of the snowdrift.

  • A 75-year-old man was so steamed that a snowplow was pushing snow across the entrance to his driveway that he waited in the street for the machine's return and refused to move, police say. Menahem Lowy claims he was just cleaning his driveway in the snowy backroads of Merrimack, N.H., but the police tell a different story. He apparently stood in front of the snowplow until police arrived and collared him, WMUR reports.

  • The Internet is crazy about the gif at the top of this story, which shows a plow absolutely creaming a guy on a Brooklyn sidewalk.
  • The snowplow drivers are beginning to lose it. Last month, a transportation worker was charged with drunk driving in West Virginia after a cop pulled him over, smelled alcohol and noticed the driver's bloodshot eyes.
