Storm Clogs Air Traffic, Airlines Canceling Flights At Houston Airport

Weather Takes Toll On Airports

The massive snow storm that canceled thousands of flights across the country this week continues to take its toll on the nation's airports.

As of Thursday afternoon, 2,000 flights have been canceled across the country (bringing the week's total to roughly 16,000).

Chicago's O'Hare and Midway airports were struggling to get back to a regular schedule (those airports are still experiencing cancellations), according to USA Today.

Further woes are hampering travel at Houston's Intercontinental Airport, as freezing rain is pelleting the area (it is forecast to turn to snow on Friday), according to FlightAware.com. Continental, US Airways and TACA have already canceled flights beginning Thursday afternoon, according to the airport's website.
