Cancel that order of weed brownies you had fast-tracked to celebrate Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s secret wedding, because apparently it never happened.
A representative for the pop star confirmed that Miley and her “Hunger Games” fiancé didn’t tie the knot this week amid speculation ignited by a photo posted by Billy Ray Cyrus.
“[It was] just some great photos that happen to have been taken in a white dress,” Miley’s manager told Us Weekly in a statement.
Billy Ray confused everybody on Thursday after sharing a photo of his daughter beaming in white, writing that he was “so happy you are happy.” Naturally, fans put two and two together and assumed that Miley and Liam had finally tied the knot after their off-and-on-again engagement.
Billy Ray didn’t help matters when he began retweeting reactions to followers understandably shook by the news. He later clarified his social media strategy, backtracking his original post in surprise that somehow people would misconstrue his insanely cryptic tweets.
“Whoa!” he wrote. “Don’t jump the gun. Been at work #StillTheKing Glad to see so many love @MileyCyrus the same as I do.”
