On the bright side, social media has become a great tool in the sharing of knowledge, ideas and information to the masses. It is a bridge that allows other to freely cross over into uncharted territories to pursue that which can be used to make their lives better for themselves and for their children. I follow a few top influence-rs on LinkedIn in order to learn from some of the best in the business to hone my skills and make life better for myself and for my loved ones. I believe that most people have similar reasons for joining social media sites. Some sites I find more favorable to what I want to accomplish than others and its okay to exercise ones’ freedom of choice.

Social media is that great equalizer that can help balance the unbalanced in the world of human differences as it can be used to bring together people with like minded ideas and positive influence to make a better nation of people.

But just like it can help make a life better, unfortunately, social media can be the catalyst used by haters, trolls and the like mindedness of ugly-mined folks intent upon destroying a person’s character, confidence and negating a group of people based solely on prejudice and hatred. It is a tool most often used these days to cause dissension, encourage hate, body shaming of women, abuse of innocent children and to detract from the real issues that are happening in our world today. In light of all that’s happening, I became sick and tired of it all and took a necessary break from social media in hopes of using my voice to do meaningful work and shine a light on all that’s wrong and unacceptable with how some people behave and carry out intolerable acts of cowardice and violent acts, in person and most assuredly from behind the computer screen.

It baffles me when people vilify a person of color for exercising his rights, but can applaud a politician for spewing hate against another race of people, dehumanizing the African American and other minority races, mimicking the disabled and diminishing the role of women in America. Yet, we have those who would rather stand with such a low caliber of human being and for all that’s wrong with this rhetoric, instead of exposing it for what it truly is.

There’s so much nonsense occurring on social media sites that it’s common knowledge that when someone bravely stands against injustice, a group of people, mostly those who oppose anyone other than mainstream America, will come out verbally incorrect in their deliverance to align themselves with the usual WPN (white people narrative) in efforts to denounce, deflate, demean, detract in hope of silencing the messenger and most definitely erase the message.

Black Lives Matter came about because of the acts of brutality and unnecessary deaths of black folks at the hands of white police officers. As the number of deaths grew and cover-ups by police became obvious in the minds of intelligent people all over the globe, reinforced when long awaited videos finally got released showing the insane murderous acts of some white officers (proof in the pudding, so to speak) there came a swarm of backlash and innuendoes from people wanting to keep reality hidden.

The same tired white people narratives became social media norm:

“Black people don’t care about themselves.” Paints a broad brush for a entire race demographic

“Black Lives Matter is a terrorists group.” Outright lie

“They are targeting police officers.” based upon the actions of a few

“What has Obama done for black people?” Do you care?

“These people need to get jobs and take care of their own.” Who are you referring to exactly?

“Some of the ones I know are actually “intelligent.” Really?!

“There’s my African American.” Idiotic comment but one must consider the source

Stop with the rhetoric people! Nobody died to make you lord and master over anyone. African Americans and other races in America have fought and died and continue to bring into awareness the struggle against race baiting-race hatred-race division and the sheer nerve of folk who continue to bemoan the ole days where white supremacy ruled and black docility existed.

THOSE ARE NO LONGER THE DAYS AND THE WRONGS OF EVILDOERS WILL BE RIGHTED AND THE WORLD WILL COME TO THE REALIZATION THAT NOT JUST SOME, BUT, ALL PEOPLE ARE FREE TO BE WHOEVER THEY ARE, REGARDLESS OF SKIN COLOR, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR WHERE THEY LIVE…

My mission is to use my voice to empower the truth in others, to impact the positive and raise a people consciousness’ through knowledge, self awareness and accountability.
