Sofia Vergara Boyfriend: Inside The Actress' Break-Up With Nick Loeb (UPDATED)

Inside Their Break-Up (UPDATED)

UPDATE: In a statement to The Huffington Post, Nick Loeb says: "I am extremely disappointed in today's comments in The Huffington Post. Sofia has always been a wonderfully loving and supportive woman."

News of Sofia Vergara and longtime beau Nick Loeb's split broke Thursday, but at least a few people weren't surprised: friends of Loeb's. The New York Daily News quotes sources who are decidedly team Loeb and say that the "Modern Family" star's jealous and diva behavior caused a rift in the couple's on-again, off-again relationship -- not her increasingly busy schedule, as had been cited by other publications.

"She was a self-centered diva bitch ... [Vergara] hated the fact that Nick got so much attention when he wanted to run for Senate," the insider told the publication.

"Good Riddance ... Loeb will go to Congress or the Senate. Sofia will end up in re-runs," the source added.

Vergara, 39, dated Loeb for two years, after having met at a Golden Globes party in 2010. Loeb is the son of John Loeb Jr., who served President Reagan as ambassador to Denmark. Loeb previously ran for the Florida state Senate in 2009, but dropped out; in 2011, he let it be known he was reconsidering running for the Senate seat.

"If he decides to do it, I think he will be amazing. My boyfriend is very inclined to politics and that's his passion," Vergara told People magazine at the time.

According to the Daily News, Loeb is currently marketing a food product called "Loeb's Onion Crunch." Meanwhile, Vergara was spotted going solo at public outings twice this week, at the Met Gala on Monday and at a charity event at The Plaza hotel on Wednesday.
