Solange Knowles Debuts 'Losing You' Video And Talks 'Elle' South Africa Shoot (VIDEO)

WATCH: Solange's Fashion-Filled 'Losing You' Video

The official video for Solange Knowles' "Losing You" has finally been released and it's as good as we thought it would be!

Shot in South Africa and directed by Melina Matsoukas, the video shows Solange twirling through Cape Town with a band of friends and a crew of drapper dudes, as she croons about a broken love affair.

"When Melina and I decided to film 'Losing You' in South Africa, we really didn't have a real firm concept in place. It was sort of a grab a camera and let's go moment. I knew I wanted to capture a couple things: the vibe of our friendship and all of the crazy escapades we've gotten ourselves into all over the world, and the abstract and elegant Le Sape Society (Society for the Advancement of People of Elegance) formed in the Congo which was documented by Daniele Tamagni in his Gentleman of Bacongo book. We called Daniele to guide us, and some of my friends from New York came down to Cape Town and we all had a very damn good time," Solange told Pitchfork.com.

You can tell the cast had a blast and we definitely love watching them--especially decked out in all those fabulous threads.

Solange teamed up with Ty Hunter, the renowned stylist behind Beyonce's fiercest fashion moments, to orchestrate all the looks in the video. From bright power suits, to cheeky hot pants paired with colorful cardigans, the duo have created a visual feast that is fully feeding our sartorial souls. Not that we'd expect anything less from our favorite style star.

And eagle-eyed fashion fans will also spot Lizzy Okpo, one half of the sister act behind the William Okop clothing line and Solange's close friends, in the video.

The Huffington Post caught up with Solange during the William Okpo Spring 2013 fashion presentation last month where she told us that her appreciation for African fashion was sparked four years ago after seeing footage of the Fela Kuti Queens, the eccentrically wives of renowned Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

"I was completely enamored at seeing the textiles and the prints--but done in very amazing and tailored silouhettes," she explained. "And my friend Maya at Boxing Kitten was doing that at the time, so that was sort of an introduction for me."

The singer also mentioned that while in Africa for the video shoot, she posed for an upcoming feature in Elle South Africa where she only wore "local based designers."
