Solange Rocked Her First 'SNL' Performance Like The Queen She Is

Beyonce and Mama Tina also attended the show to shower her with support.

Solange made her first appearance on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and performed two songs from her acclaimed new album, “A Seat At The Table.”

The singer, who released the album on Sept. 30, was introduced by host Benedict Cumberbatch and delivered powerful performances for her songs “Cranes In The Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair,” which included a feature from singer Sampha.

For her first performance, Solange sang soothing vocals for “Cranes In The Sky” and shimmered on stage in a dazzling beaded shirt and matching magical head piece. Watch:

Solange later switched it up for her song “Don’t Touch My Hair” for which, fittingly, she rocked a natural-styled mane as she shared her magic onstage. During one point in the performance, she even recreated the iconic dance moves she delivered in the song’s music video. Watch:

Mom Tina Knowles-Lawson and superstar sister Beyoncé also attended the show to shower Solange with support. At one point, the duo picked her up, maintaining a long-standing family tradition. “I’m 30 years old!” Solange says in a video that captured the moment, but her protest didn’t seem to matter.

“She’s still our baby,” Mama Tina wrote in the caption. “We have been picking her up like this since she was 10 yrs old.”

You gotta love them.
