Sophie Turner, aka Sansa Stark on "Game of Thrones," will play Jean Grey in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Director Bryan Singer made the announcement through his Twitter account on Thursday, while also revealing that Tye Sheridan (as Cyclops) and Alexandra Shipp (as Storm) will also join the cast.

Turner retweeted Singer and then also added her own commentary on the news:

The 18-year-old actress should have a big season ahead on "Game of Thrones," which returns on April 12 for its fifth season. "X-Men: Apocalypse," which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Oscar Isaac, is out in theaters on May 27, 2016.
