Space Mountain With The Lights On Strips Magic From Disneyland Ride (PHOTOS)

The Disneyland Photos Mickey Doesn't Want You To See

A veil has been lifted from Space Mountain, one of Disneyland's most popular rides.

Reddit user AverageDoorknob says he was on the ride in Anaheim, Calif. when the car stopped and the lights turned on. AverageDoorknob snapped a few pictures of the well-lit Space Mountain roller coaster and shared them online with his Reddit brethren. Because the roller coaster is indoors and runs in almost complete darkness, the photos will be a new sight for most Disneyland visitors.

"Amazing how it goes from awesome to lame by the simple flick of a switch," opined another Reddit user. But our favorite comment comes from Redditor throw-a-neigh-accoun for his or her sarcasm at the mild expose.

"I WAS TOLD I WAS RIDING AROUND IN SPACE, NOW YOU TELL ME THERE ARE TRACKS... INSIDE A R OOM SOMEWHERE?
I AM DONE DISNEY. DONE."

While there appears to have been an error in the uploading process with the first photo (below is an embedded album from the photo sharing site Imgur), the other four reveal a Space Mountain ride stripped of its usual starry magic.

Of course, this isn't the first time Space Mountain has been caught with the lights on. The theme park allowed "castmembers" (that's what a Disneyland staffer is called) on a special lit ride and someone filmed the whole thing. Uploaded in 2008, the video has over 2.1 million views.
