Watch A Video Of Today's SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Explosion

No one was injured in the blast.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket exploded in flames at Cape Canaveral Thursday morning during a pre-launch test. No one was hurt in the blast.

Video of the incident obtained by USLaunchReport shows a small ignition near the top of vehicle that quickly spreads, ultimately exploding.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted afterward that the cause is unknown, though it originated during the propellant fill operation around “the upper stage oxygen tank.”

A second view of the area just after the explosion shows a large plume of smoke rising from the launchpad:

The company elaborated on Musk’s understanding of the incident in a further tweet, adding that “all personnel were clear of the pad and there were no injuries.”

SpaceX did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Huffington Post.
