Spielberg, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise Asked To Give Up Private Jets

Congressional candidate Marcy Winograd has formally asked Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and a handful of mega-stars to stop flying via private jet in and out of Santa Monica Airport because of the pollution the planes cause for neighbors in the neighboring, L.A. city community of Mar Vista.

Winograd, who is vying for Jane Harman's Westside seat in the June 8 primary, has sent a "no jets" pledge to the governor as well as to Steven Spielberg, Julia Roberts, John Travolta and Tom Cruise, "all of whom reportedly contribute to jet traffic at Santa Monica airport," according to a statement from the congressional hopeful.
