I've heard it said,
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn.
And we are led to those
Who help us most to grow if we let them.
And we help them in return.
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you.
-- Kristoffer Kristofferson

Words of wisdom turned into the lyrics of For Good, a song in the Broadway musical Wicked.

Like many people, I'm inspired by music. Lyrics often evoke a sentiment that creates resonance with a state of mind, or state of being. Music is quite simply a universal language and a form of expression invoking our innermost personal longings. Every once in a while it just so happens that those lyrics coincide with a particular event in one's life. When this happens, we garner new emotional reference that serves as a touchstone of remembrance.

Such was the case for me in recent days. Finding myself in a creative slump, I sulked for a few days following one of my YouTube programs on "The Vulnerability Series." My mind had me wrapped in the limiting belief that my work is insignificant and that what I do is simply an exercise in futility. Within days of this recorded video, I received a note saying, "This is fantastic, thanks very much."

I was stunned. Shortly before I had placed an intention for guidance. My response to the note was, "Thanks for the comment. Just this morning I asked the universe to give me a sign and you are it."

Out of the blue I not only got the answer to my request but in the process I established a beautiful connection with an incredible spiritual teacher. Dave Edwards, an aeronautical engineer turned
author, had a lot to teach me.

In his soon to be released book titled Affordaplane Story, Dave talks about the trials and tribulations of his life and how he survived and thrived after a coronary quadruple bypass. Like many of us on the spiritual path, Dave has set aside the many frivolous things that can become a distraction from serious spiritual seeking. He is now dedicated to making a difference in his own life and in the lives of those who are ready to be touched by sublime guidance.

Among the things I learned from Dave was a method of raising the Kundalini energies in the body. I learned that I alone am the Master of the electrical input and output that create that current. I have all it takes to polarize my masculine and feminine energy in order to increase the vibration that can free my spirit. All that's needed for this transformative charge is a little imagination and a great deal of
focus to the practice.

The results were outstanding. After trying this technique I spent a grand total of seven days in a state of continuous electrical flow. Unexpectedly, and much to my surprise I lost ten pounds in the course of four days and by day seven I felt I had regressed two to three years in age. At times the charge was so intense it was hard to contain. My body did not know how to behave to this high voltage. I was on cloud nine.

Being on cloud nine granted me the opportunity to have a new vantage point. A new perspective from which to view life and assess what really matters most.

There is a growing number of people who have arrived at this crossroad in life. A point at which the daily noise, the material possessions and the rush of an empty pursuit take a backseat in the vehicle of one's life. It is then when we turn to each other and recognize that the true gold has been before us all along. It is in each other that we find the mirror of the self. The sweet recognition of the divine and unadulterated being that hides within us all.

Dave flew in and out of my life like angels do, leaving behind a trail of sacred smoke. Leaving a deep and significant imprint on my heart just like all the other teachers before him.

I would like to suggest that as you look around, notice how many of these magnificent teachers have walked before you day in and day out. How many times have you taken account of the brilliant you that shines through the eyes of another? Who have you been a mirror to and not even known the effect you have had in their lives? I ask you to contemplate these questions and truly ponder. What would make a difference in your life by an act of will? And how you, by that same will, can reflect back to others the very best which you are? Be the light that dwells within you. Let your spirit take flight. Do it today!

Today, the ever flowing Now is all any of us really have.
