Every girl wants the perfect skin, hair and nails well, you only see it in Disney fairytales. Most of us do not have the time or the money for spas, hair salon or nail salons. With so many beauty products out there, we have no idea what is in the products that we love. Most of the ingredients we can't even pronounce, but all you need to know is what works for you and personally, I love home remedies and DIY (do it yourself). You can try some of these beauty tricks at either no cost or with a few household items.
1. For Acne
• Baking soda
• Egg yolk or the whole egg
Use this home remedy once or twice a week. I'd recommend at night before going to bed.
You can also use the same ingredients plus the same method to remove dark spots and it will even out your skin tone in addition to making your skin brighter (This isn't a guarantee for every skin type.)
2. Good Facial Mask (Chemical Free)
• Two percent milk
• Brown sugar
Mix all the ingredients together. Wait about five to ten minutes, then rinse your face with warm water. If you want your skin to look like Pharrell Williams, as he mentioned on AOL BUILD, drink a lot of water. If you want glowing skin get a good night's sleep, a healthy diet, and exercise. With spring approaching, don't forget to use sunscreen before heading out even if you are of a darker complexion. It's good to use sunscreen for protection.
Unlike Beyoncé we don't all wake up like this, but you can. For a good hair day, deep conditioning is the way to go. Also, our little friend's honey, Milk, Bananas, Mayonnaise, located in your fridge can be mixed together for an amazing hair day. Not all of us have the time to watch those long YouTube tutorials on what deep conditioner is the best.
• Coconut oil
After mixing all the ingredients, cover your hair with a shower cap and wait fifteen to thirty minutes, depending on your hair type then wash your hair with warm water. This method works on all hair types.
Since spring is around the corner don't forget your nails. If you don't like going to the nail salon all the time you're in luck. You can do your own nails at home, this requires a little patience, the right nail polish and top coat. Since High School, people would always ask me where I get my nails done, my answer would be at home in the bathroom or wherever I felt comfortable. Just make sure you have good lighting. What do you need?
• Nail file from your local pharmacy ($2)
• Base coat ($3)
• Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat dry your nails in one minute ($6.99)
• Dual tips applicator from your local pharmacy ($2.99)
The dua tip applicator helps clean the nail polish that smudges over your finger. Just use the tip to clean the sides of your nails. You can also use the dual tip applicator to apply makeup. Voila! Now you are all set for spring and summer.
