Bruce Springsteen Covers Prince's 'Purple Rain' In NYC

"Prince, forever."

Musical tributes to Prince in the days since his death have been plentiful, and largely excellent.

With Bruce Springsteen in the middle of a tour, one could predict that The Boss would follow suit with a cover of one of the Purple One's many hits.

And Springsteen did not disappoint.

With the lights of Barclay's Center in Brooklyn set to a purple hue, Springsteen performed a moving cover of Prince's hit "Purple Rain."

The cover features a Prince-worthy guitar solo from Nils Lofgren and an audience sing-along.

"Prince, forever," Springsteen said as the song ended. "God bless!"

Springsteen's current tour has seen several tributes to music icons who have died in recent months, Forbes noted. Springsteen has paid tribute to David Bowie and the Eagle's Glenn Frey on previous tour stops.
