There's no shortage of wild and fun events on St Patrick's Day this year in New York. From bar crawls to karaoke to burlesque -- there are many inventive ways to drink green Guinness, and we've got you covered. Thursday is the date of the parade of most themed events, but plenty of festivities kick off on Wednesday.
Karaoke Killed the Cat/ St. Paddy's Day Blowout
The weekly karaoke dance party, hosted by legendary Karaoke Killed the Cat duo Chris Goldteeth and Lord Easy, goes green with Irish drink specials at one of Park Slope's best venues.

The Pogues and Titus Andronicus at Terminal 5
Irish rock legends The Pogues are back in New York this year with New Jersey's own Titus Andronicus for an all-ages show that we're sure will include a lot of loud, drunken sing-a-longs and very non-traditional Irish dancing (read: moshing).

Big In Japan: St. Patty's Show for Earthquake Relief
Maybe this year your St. Patty's Day should be about giving back. All the proceeds from this show, which features comedic stylings of Julian McCullough and Kenji America, go to earthquake relief in Japan.

The St. Patrick's Madness Brawl
St. Patrick's day is also the beginning of the NCAA basketball tournament, so if you're caught up in March Madness, step on down to Susan Saranon-owned SPiN, which is celebrating with its very own 3 vs. 3 table tennis tournament, complete with 16 tables, a full bar and prizes.

If you want to get sexy on St. Patty's, stop by Galapagos for some tasteful burlesque. It's exactly what St. Patrick would have wanted.

The Little Mermaid Sing-A-Long
Want to escape the holiday altogether? Maybe spend some under the sea at Brooklyn's The Bell House, where the Little Mermaid will be screening, themed drinks and goldfish crackers will be served, and there will be not a shamrock in sight.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
This yearly tradition of green hats and bagpipes blaring began on the streets of Manhattan in 1762. If you're crazy enough to go the parade, festivities kick off at 11AM around 44th street on Fifth avenue. Or watch live here.

St. Patrick's day is, after all, a religious holiday, so if you're so inclined stop by for a service at America's most famous church. Otherwise, marvel at a gorgeous piece of architecture and experience a moment of calm and awe before going to the pub.
