Asking a father for permission to marry his daughter is never easy, but it's even worse when he's threatening you with a light saber.
That's one of the many challenges Ian Coulson faced when he proposed to his longtime love, Lizzy Holt.
The couple shares a love for epics like "Star Wars" and "Lord Of The Rings."
So when the 25-year-old from Brighton, England, decided to pop the question, he made a proposal video in which he reenacts scenes from their favorite epic films, according to Barcroft TV.
The proposal video included a cameo by Gollum from "Lord Of The Rings" and a "fight-to-the-death" with Coulson's potential father-in-law, Scott Holt, who dresses as Darth Vader, complete with light saber.
"He actually used to be a stage actor, so he took to it like a duck to water," Coulson told Barcroft TV. "We chatted about the whole 'bad guy' idea and after a little convincing he was totally on board. Though he did say that after watching me shoot him Lizzy might turn round and say no."
