Who's Stealing Our Democracy?

I'm a registered Independent and I already voted for Hillary by absentee ballot. In truth I would have voted for her even after hearing about Donna Brazile's leaked debate questions.

Both Parties
The short answer is both political parties. The Republicans have been trying to suppress the minority vote for decades, but that's old news. Trump's desire to circumvent the democratic process is well known and frequently quoted. His arrogance is exceeded only by his skill at lying, which has been clocked at 75 percentof what he says. But Trump is hardly alone in stealing the democratic process.

Hillary's leaked emails continue to plague her campaign and they have revealed that the Democrats are also complicit in stealing the democratic, Democrat process. First, ex-Democrat Party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz worked diligently to ensure that Bernie never succeeded as the party candidate. Now it has been revealed that Donna Brazile gave Hillary the questions to the Primary debate with Bernie.

No Real Choice
I'm a registered Independent and I already voted for Hillary by absentee ballot. In truth I would have voted for her even after hearing about Donna Brazile's leaked debate questions. But I feel betrayed by the Democrats and saddened that Trump's comments about the Democrat Party's process for nominating their Presidential candidate was rigged. It was rigged and I'm not certain we even know now the extent to which it was rigged.

I was a Bernie supporter from the start, and after watching the carnival sideshow that this Presidential election has turned into I'm furious that Bernie wasn't the candidate. All the nonsense the Democrats who supported Hillary spouted during the nominating process made me sick then and outrage me now. The notion that my preferred candidate wasn't allowed to run against Hillary in a fair election process in the Democrat Party makes me remember why I became an Independent.

Dynasties
The notion that either political party was limited to a Bush or a Clinton Dynasty is revolting, and at least the Republicans saw through Jeb Bush's feeble attempts to create a trifecta. That Trump became their candidate became the Republican Party's self-fulfilling prophecy after decades of supporting bigotry and hate. They need only look in the mirror for a culprit.

Cheaters
But the Democrat Party decided behind closed doors that Hillary would be the candidate. Screw Bernie and his enormous support. Here's what I know in my heart to be true. Bernie would have been a terrific candidate without a whiff of scandal of any kind. He would have decimated Trump in the debates, and no one would have been able to dig up any nasty material on him either. Bernie was too old to handle Trump? Nonsense, he's a tough New Yorker who would have torn Trump a new one in the debates.

That Bernie was literally robbed of his legitimate candidacy is criminal and no amount of punishment by the Democrat Party or CNN is enough to slake the thirst millions of Americans had for new blood, Bernie. I'm sick and tired of being assaulted by Hillary supporters who insisted all along that she was the only possible winner against Trump.

More Lying
Bill Clinton spending 30 minutes on Loretta Lynch's plane while it was parked on the tarmac stinks to high heaven, and while Bill was an okay President his denials about so many issues took lying to a new level. It's odd how the Democrats keep insisting that Bill's not the candidate now so his past is irrelevant. No, it isn't because he's still lying, but for Hillary instead of himself.

A Low Point
This Presidential election will likely go down in history as the absolute lowest point in American politics. Two candidates with histories that sicken even their strongest supporters, competing for an office that the Obamas dignified that is being defiled by both Trump and Clinton. I would have voted for Gary Johnson but since he was too stoned to remember what Aleppo is and couldn't name one world leader I had to pass.

If Trump wins I'll consider moving to some country where I feel safe from his grasp, and if Hillary wins I'll hold my nose for the next four years. Who's stealing the electoral process? Both parties. If you haven't voted then I urge you to vote for Hillary even though she sickens me on many levels. We're becoming a third world country politically. I'll skip Hillary's inauguration and daydream instead about Bernie and what could have been.
