Stephen Colbert Apologizes To Gays

WATCH: Stephen Colbert Issues 'Rare And Historic' Apology To Gay People

The Colbert Report

Stephen Colbert isn't one to issue apologies -- and certainly not one to advocate for gay issues on his satirical Comedy Central show "The Colbert Report."

That is, until last night's show when Colbert made a "rare and historic" announcement about his views regarding same-sex attraction.

In August, HuffPost brought you a study about same-sex activity among insects that claimed billions of bugs "have evolved to mate quick and dirty." As a result, many insects end up having gay sex because they're just so excited about mating that they don't register the sex of their partner.

Now, Colbert is realizing being gay isn't a choice -- it's an accident! Check out the video above to hear his hilarious apology.
