Stephen Colbert Plots A Post-Election Escape Route To Canada

"Canada’s like America’s safety school."

Stephen Colbert has your back if you dream of moving to Canada after election day.

The “Late Show” host found out exactly what it would take to relocate north of the border if the vote on Nov. 8 doesn’t go your way.

While talk of people upping sticks if their candidate doesn’t win “happens every four years,” Colbert said this campaign had been particularly “upsetting.”

Hailing Canada as “America’s safety school,” he then met with Toronto immigration lawyer Andrew Cumming to find out “how to turn over a new maple leaf.”

Cue references to Canadian actor Ryan Gosling, rock band Barenaked Ladies and lots of folk-rock from Gordon Lightfoot. And we mean a lot.
