WATCH: Colbert Mocks GOP's Southern Campaign Strategy

As Republican candidates continue to campaign ahead of Tuesday's primaries in Alabama and Mississippi, Stephen Colbert noticed some odd changes happening to the likes of Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

Colbert, who described himself as a "loyal son of the South" and sported a thick Southern accent, showed clips of Romney and Gingrich attempting to woo voters by using Southern vernacular and showing their love and expertise of grits.

"Becoming a Southerner is a lot like puberty," Colbert explained. "Your voice changes and your testicles secede from the North."

Watch the full clip above to hear Colbert's authentic Southern accent and see him rip into the candidates' lame attempts at connecting with Southern voters.
