Stephen Colbert ruthlessly mocked Karl Rove's new book, "Courage and Consequence," on "The Colbert Report" last night. He started his segment by pulling out a large ham with glasses that looked uncannily like Rove, but the ripping didn't stop there.
Colbert on the title of the book: "It's just like 'Pride and Prejudice,' but even more prejudiced!"
On spilling the secrets of the memoir: "Spoiler Alert: Bush was a great president!"
Colbert pointed out that the memoir is almost entirely made up of Rove's denials of his involvement in various scandals, from the rumor about John McCain's illegitimate black baby to the swiftboat rumors about John Kerry. "I'm telling you, folks," said Stephen, "this is a gripping who-didn't-dun-it."
