Still in need of some comfort after Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction? Stephen Hawking has you covered.
Hawking made an appearance at the Sydney Opera House Saturday night via hologram, USA Today reports. The esteemed physicist discussed topics like religion, black holes and his battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
During the event, Hawking answered questions from the audience. One audience member asked, “What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?”
Hawking's response was a crowd-pleaser. “Finally, a question about something important,” he said.
He continued with an explanation that is sure to mend many broken hearts.
My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics. Because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes. It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe. And in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.
Hawking closed with even more good news.
“This girl may like to know that in another possible universe, she and Zayn are happily married,” he added.
