Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks, 'No One Is (As I Are Be)' (VIDEO)

Stephen Malkmus, 'No One Is As I Are Be'

Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus has been making the internet rounds this week, in advance of his album's release with his band, The Jicks, next Tuesday. Mirror Traffic is produced by Beck, who's also put his touch on Charlotte Gainsbourg's IRM and a solo album by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, Demolished Thoughts.

On Friday, Malkmus dropped the video for "No One Is (As I Are Be)," which the New York Times premiered. The song is a more intimate, simple ditty, and one where Beck's influence is more clearly pronounced. Our favorite line here? "I cannot even do one sit-up/sit-ups are so bourgeoisie."

Stay tuned for the release of Mirror Traffic on Aug. 23, which you can stream in full on NPR's First Listen.
