After claiming the number two most watched national-syndicated talk show last year, NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution and Endemol USA have announced the renewal of the “Steve Harvey” show for a second season.

The media mogul has experienced a tremendous amount of success during his debut season as a daytime host, including being chosen as Favorite New Talk Show Host at the People’s Choice Awards.

"This project was a long time in the making and it would not have been possible without the incredibly talented Steve Harvey,” David Goldberg, Endemol's North America Chairman, said in a press release. “His humor, honesty and insight were an immediate hit with the daytime audience.

"I am grateful to Rushion McDonald, Mr. Harvey's manager and longtime business partner, who has been instrumental from the beginning, and to Barry and his team at NBCU who put their full power and resources behind the show from day one," he said. I must also commend Alex Duda, executive producer, for her talent and tireless commitment. She and her team made our out-of-the-gate success possible. We have a bright future to look forward to."

Harvey’s influence on network television has also carried over to his side gig as host of "Family Feud," which has seen a 50 percent spike in their viewership in the last year.
