Stewart Returns, Compares Obama To Luke Skywalker

What a difference two weeks makes! "The Daily Show" returned last night after a two-week holiday break with a starkly different view of the Obama administration. Before break, Jon Stewart used his last show of the year to shed light on important legislation the lame duck Congress had yet to pass, including the 9/11 first responders bill and a repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell," and passed much of the blame on to the President.

Monday night, however, Stewart was wowed by the amount of things Obama got done in the two weeks "The Daily Show" was away. Not only did the Zadroga Bill and a repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" go through, but so did a new set of food safety laws and several other overdue pieces of legislation. He was impressed:

"Holy crap, Democrats! You need to lose midterms more often, it suits you! If only you'd completely lose the Senate, we could solve our immigration problems."

While the media is calling Obama "the comeback kid." Stewart had a better analogy for his success, a three-trilogy analogy.

"He's not a kid," Stewart said. "He's Luke Skywalker"

He began with a general comparison that like Luke Skywalker of "Star Wars," Obama is also a "skinny kid with a funny name who came out of nowhere." Stewart then launched into a lengthy analogy spanning "New Hope," "Empire Strikes Back", "Return Of The Jedi" and even one of the prequels.

Aside from flexing his nerdy knowledge of "Star Wars," Stewart made detailed comparisons including Sarah Palin to a Wampa, Democrats to Wookies and Storm Troopers to Republicans.
