Stop What You're Doing And Watch This Kid Dance To 'The New Edition Story'

The toddler learned the moves and songs to many of the miniseries' scenes.

BET kicked off 2017 with its miniseries “The New Edition Story,” telling the story of how the group New Edition rose to stardom. The musical performances really stuck with one talented toddler.

On Feb. 7, Kaurey Murrell posted a video on Facebook of her son Jaxon, who will turn 3 on Feb. 22, dancing along to a scene from “The New Edition Story.” As the group performs The Jackson 5’s “The Love You Save,” Jaxon sings along and nails every move ― even when he turns his back to the TV to grin at his mom.

Murrell told The Huffington Post her son didn’t even know New Edition before the miniseries came out. He was more into Bruno Mars and catchy songs from his favorite shows.

“Jaxon enjoys any upbeat songs especially if it has a dance routine that goes along with it,” she said. “That includes his favorite cartoons, ‘Bubble Guppies’ and ‘The Doodlebops.’”

Now, Jaxon reenacts the performances from “The New Edition Story” every day including the scenes where the group sings “Candy Girl,” “If It Isn’t Love” and “Is This The End.” The toddler enjoys those scenes so much that he frequently tells his mom, “Wanna watch the boys!”

In about a week, the video of Jaxon dancing has been viewed more than 2 million times. “The New Edition Story” official Facebook page shared the video and Ricky Bell, one of the founding members of the group, shared it on his Instagram account.

“This is too cute!” he wrote.

Murrell said she’s received several messages from people telling her that Jaxon has made their “day brighter.” She told HuffPost she’s happy to have her son put a smile on many people’s faces.

“It warms my heart to know my son has touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way,” she said.
