'Storage Wars: Texas': Ricky And Bubba Score Their Biggest Jewelry Profit Ever (VIDEO)

'Storage Wars: Texas' Score Huge Jewelry Profit

Bubba Smith and his Uncle Ricky have proven themselves pretty savvy at playing the game on "Storage Wars: Texas" (Tue., 10 p.m. ET on A&E), but they were still in for a tremendous surprise when they scored a locker for $525. They'd already managed a profit of $25 on some of the other items in the locker, but they were really holding out hope for a pair of diamond rings they found inside.

If the rings were real, they could put the boys well in the green. So with excitement and trepidation they took them to a jewelry expert. Immediately after looking at the first one, she let out an involuntary, "Wow!"

"I'm going to say the retail replacement value is approximately $30,000," she said.

As the boys got excited, Bubba asked, "On both, or just that one?"

"This one," she said with a smile. All told, the two rings were estimated to have an approximate value of $49,000, well over what anyone would have paid for the storage unit they were sitting in. It does raise the question of what happened to the locker's owner that they wouldn't have sold those diamonds to offset any debts they were having with the storage place. Still, their loss was most definitely Ricky and Bubba's gain.

"In 38 years of doing this, I've never found that much money in jewelry," Rick said. The odds of finding it again are slim to none, so this will surely be a treasure both men will remember for years to come.
