Suki Waterhouse: 'Embrace The Heat And What It Does To Your Hair'

Suki Waterhouse's Go-To Hair Tip For Summer

With humidity, rain, wind and sun working against our hair, it can be tempting to overdo it with products and tools just to look somewhat pulled together. But thanks to Suki Waterhouse, we're embracing a new summer beauty philosophy.

The 23-year-old British actress and model is known for her loose, soft waves -- a look she calls "shabby chic," and that she achieves with Coca-Cola rinses. But we have a feeling she won't need to pour fizzy soda on her strands any longer: Waterhouse has been named the new muse for Redken and is fronting the haircare brand's new Glow Dry oil.

"I always just attacked my hair like a mad person before, so I'm really looking forward to looking after it more!" she told The Huffington Post.

The star also shared her number one beauty tip for this time of year.

"During summer, I really believe in embracing the heat and what it does to your hair, the texture that a little sweat makes," Waterhouse said. "Make it part of your hair texture. I like a messy look. I use Redken's new Glow Dry Style-Enhancing Blow-Dry Oil on damp hair and then blow-dry it in to help give my hair a little extra sheen and silky feel."

A huge part of Waterhouse's new hair maintenance routine required growing out her famous bangs. "I kept cutting them myself... and they just ended up being a trek to take care of," she admits. She also minimizes manipulation and damage by only washing the ends in between washes, finger-detangling and air-drying.

When things get "really, really terrible," Waterhouse does what we all do: she calls a stylist and books a blowout!
