The Sun Apologizes For Calling Woman On Maternity Leave 'Lazy'

The Sun made yet another jaw-dropping gaffe when it recently labeled a politician on maternity leave "lazy."

British MP Lucy Powell, who had a baby this year, tweeted the newspaper's apology Wednesday:

The Sun — which is also one of the newspapers at the center of News Corp's phone hacking and bribery scandal — had apparently named the 10 "laziest" members of Parliament based on records of who showed up to vote in the Commons.

Powell told the Independent that she was "appalled" by the list, which she said included politicians with "serious illnesses."
