Super Bowl Wedding: Ravens Fans To Marry At Super Bowl 2013

Why The Super Bowl Will Be Life-Changing For This Couple

Baltimore couple Jim Pellegrini and Daisy Sudano vowed they'd get married the next time the Baltimore Ravens went to the Super Bowl. So this weekend, they'll head to New Orleans to cheer on their favorite team -- and get hitched!

Sudano told local TV station WBAL-TV Tuesday that she and Pellegrini had their first date at a Super Bowl party in 2001, when the Ravens beat the New York Giants. They hit it off and continued dating, but decided that they wouldn't get married until the Ravens returned to the Super Bowl.

"I was the one with cold feet," Sudano told The Baltimore Sun. "I wanted a little more time to go by and make it interesting. Because if [the Ravens] were ever in another Super Bowl, it would make our wedding special."

Twelve years later -- the moment of truth: the Ravens won the 2013 AFC Championship, beating the New England Patriots and earning a spot in the XLVII Super Bowl.

"We looked at each other with tears in our eyes," Sudano said. "And we hugged and kissed and said, 'Finally.'"

The two plan to marry on Saturday in a restaurant in New Orleans. They had intended to watch the game on TV, but on Thursday, the managers of a Baltimore car dealership surprised them with two tickets to the game.

It's a good thing they've scheduled their wedding for the day before the big game -- in a 2012 online survey, a majority of respondents said they'd skip a family member's wedding to go to the Super Bowl. Watch the video above for more on the happy couple's Big Day plans.
