I wasn't planning on blogging today, but...wow!

In just a month, our campaign has surged +13% according to Rasmussen's monthly tracking poll. Now the race is statistically tied and we are on our way to retiring Richard Burr - one of Wall Street's most reliable United States Senators!

Now is the time to strike: a highly critical fundraising deadline is coming up on Wednesday.

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Burr picking up 44% support while Marshall picks up 43%. Seven percent (7%) of voters would choose some other candidate and six percent (6%) are undecided.

These results mark the highest level of support for Marshall and the lowest support measured for Burr in surveys going back to February. Prior to the latest poll, Burr's support ranged from 48% to 51%, while Marshall's support fell in a 32% to 40% range.

This is it friends: now, our campaign has become the premier race in the country and many are calling us the party's best chance to defeat a Republican incumbent!

But this is far from over. Richard Burr has spent the last six years doing the bidding of every special interest group in Washington, and they have rewarded him with a campaign war chest of $10 million. It's daunting, but I have something stronger...

All of you!

Chip in $5 or more today and help us catch up to Burr's six-year head start:

Yesterday, wonderful Democrats like Cal Cunningham and Ken Lewis united around our campaign. Let's keep this momentum going by taking the fight to Richard Burr!

Thank you,

Elaine Marshall
