Suri Cruise Custody: Katie Holmes Reportedly Seeks Full Custody In Divorce From Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes Seeks Full Custody Of Suri In Divorce: Report

What will Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce mean for their 6-year-old daughter, Suri?

According to TMZ, Holmes filed for divorce Friday, citing "irreconcilable differences." She is asking for sole custody of Suri -- the couple's only child -- as well as a "suitable amount" of child support.

Though Holmes' attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, told People that the former "Dawson's Creek" star hoped to keep details under wraps, he did express that his client is focusing on what's best for Suri at this time.

Cruise is the father of two other children -- Isabella Jane and Connor -- whom he adopted in his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman. After their 2001 split, Cruise and Kidman agreed to joint custody of the two children, though they chose to live with Cruise in their teen years before moving into a Los Angeles home together.

"They live with Tom, which was their choice," Kidman told Hello! Magazine in 2010. "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?"

Holmes, who's the youngest of five children, told Marie Claire in 2010 that she wasn't looking to add to her family any time soon.

"Maybe in a couple of years, but right now I want to make sure I'm really there for Suri... I was a bit of an only child, and I liked it! I liked having all of my mom's attention, and sometimes I think I still do," she told the magazine.

"I'm enjoying every second with Suri that I have. And I'm enjoying the relationship with my older kids, and the way it is right now," he said.
