Susan Sarandon, Eva Amurri Martino Line Up 'Mother's Day'

Sarandon & Daughter Team For 'Mother's Day'

Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Martino could celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday by reading pages from their new film, "Mother's Day."

Despite the holiday-themed title -- a recent Hollywood trope that has become synonymous with star-studded omnibus romcom tripe -- "Mother's Day" is actually an indie drama about mothers and daughters that just so happens to take place on Mother's Day. Paul Duddridge, a former comedy agent in Britain, will write and direct.

This isn't the first time the mother-daughter duo have appeared together onscreen. Sarandon and Amurri played mother and daughter in "The Banger Sisters" back in 2002. As THR notes, Amurri also appeared as a younger version of Sarandon's character in "Dead Man Walking."

Sarandon last appeared in the critically acclaimed "Jeff, Who Lives At Home." Amurri Martino will next appear in "That's My Boy."
