Susie Sanchez: Raiders Newest Cheerleader A Grandmother

Newest Raiders Cheerleader A Grandmother

'Grandma' and 'cheerleader' are not two words that you often hear go together, but perhaps that will change as a result of who the Oakland Raiders announced will be the newest addition to their squad in 2011.

According to The Pinnacle, the Raiderettes hired Susie Sanchez, a 37-year-old mother of three and grandmother of one.

"It's life changing at that moment," she said after hearing the big news.

Sanchez isn't the first Raiders cheerleader to come from slightly unusual circumstances--Tony LaRussa's daughter Bianca Tai was also given a spot on the squad.

She also isn't even the oldest cheerleader in the NFL. That distinction is held by Laura Vikmanis of the Cincinnati Bengals, who is 42 and recently sold the rights to her story to New Line Cinema.
