One of Anthony Weiner's former sexting partners made a surprise appearance outside the New York City mayoral candidate's primary party at Connolly's Pub on 47th Street in Midtown Tuesday night.
HuffPost was at the scene and asked Sydney Leathers, the woman whose revelations of her relationship with Weiner may have brought down his mayoral bid, how she predicted her ex-sexting partner would fare in the polls.
"I think he'll do horribly," Leathers said. "I don't think he can handle a city as large as New York. He can't even handle meeting up with someone like me."
"He changed his whole schedule earlier to avoid running into me," since she came forward with explicit text messages and pictures from the former congressman, she added. (That's a claim the Weiner campaign denies.)
Pressed further on why she was so eager to confront Weiner in the election's aftermath, Leathers replied, "Why not?"
She was eventually denied entry into the event, but appeared content to pose for photos outside.
