'SYTYCD': Tapper Gives 'Best Performance ... In 10 Seasons'

Tap dancers have often struggled to stand out and excel on "So You Think You Can Dance." Maybe that's because the show has never gone to Detroit. This year, the series headed to the Motor City for the first time where they found 18-year-old Tyrone Cobham.

"Really, the best performance for me in all of 10 seasons," Mary Murphy said after his audition. Naturally, the routine earned him a standing ovation, as well as an automatic ticked to Vegas. Gossip and Gab said the ticket was a no-brainer in Tyrone's case.

And BuddyTV thought you could feel Tyrone’s infectious personality through the TV. Buddy TV thought that viewers could feel Tyrone's infectious personality through the television. That can help him in later rounds, because it's as much about connecting on a personal level with the audience as it is about talent when it comes to winning "SYTYCD."

The big question is how many people will be there to watch his journey. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Tuesday's premiere was down to just 4.2 million viewers, down notably from its premiere last summer, which came after May sweeps had ended.

Next week, "So You Think You Can Dance" settles into its normal time on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
