William Howard Taft Unexpectedly Returns To Politics In 'Taft 2012' (WATCH)

The race for the White House is hotting up. The Republicans start their primaries next month. President Obama is giving speeches intended to stir his base.

And yet, there's an independent waiting in the wings. A man with experience. A man of honor. A man who's been dead for 81 years. But why should that stop him?

At least, that's the premise of Jason Heller's entertainingly silly book "Taft 2012" (Quirk Books, $14.95), out in January, in which William Howard Taft, the victorious presidential candidate of 1908, returns for another crack at the job.

Over on Taft's own website, you can read the 27th President of the United States blogging, Facebooking, Tweeting and generally preparing himself to enter the political fray once more, while also trying to make sense of the modern world.

We don't often post book trailers, but the book's pitch-perfect spoof of current campaign ads made us laugh, so we asked Quirk if we could exclusively reveal it first.
