Tagg Romney: 'Don't Understand Why These Monsters Have Done This'

Tagg Romney, the oldest son of 2012 presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R), tweeted from lockdown Friday morning as police searched for a man believed to be the second bomber in Monday’s Boston marathon explosions.

Romney, a founder of Boston-based private equity firm Solamere Capital, lives in the Boston metropolitan area with his family. He tweeted that he and his family were "locked down in our home":

Romney addressed the Boston marathon bombings on CNN Tuesday, calling the explosions a "cowardly act."

"They messed with the wrong people," Romney said. "There's going to be a period of grief, I'm sure there will be some anger. And we're going to want to figure out how to keep this from happening again. Not just here but all over the country."

A hunt in the Boston area for 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev -- one of the men suspected in the Boston bombing -- picked up late Thursday night after a shooting at MIT. Another Boston bombing suspect -- identified as Dzhokhar's brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev -- died after a shootout with police.

Two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing killed an MIT police officer, injured a transit officer in a firefight and threw explosive devices at police during their getaway attempt in a long night of violence that left one of them dead and another still at large Friday, authorities said as the manhunt intensified for a young man described as a dangerous terrorist.

The suspects were identified to The Associated Press as coming from the Russian region near Chechnya, which has been plagued by an Islamic insurgency stemming from separatist wars. A law enforcement intelligence bulletin obtained by the AP identified the surviving bomb suspect as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old who had been living in Cambridge, Mass.
