Anti-government protests in Turkey entered their second week on Friday, with thousands of demonstrators gathering in Istanbul's Taksim Square. Protesters reacted angrily to Prime Minister Erdogan's call on Friday for an end to the demonstrations. "Erdogan will decide the fate of this resistance, whether it will calm or escalate," 42-year-old protester Mehmet Polat told Reuters on Friday. "These people have been here for days. He has to understand."

Take a look at this awesome time-lapse video of Taksim Square released by Reuters on Friday. The video shows protesters at Istanbul's landmark center over a 24-hour period beginning on Wednesday, June 5.
